.07.10.05. - return of the hoorahfarfignewton [pack]

Totemphone: Kasche tha Hrafn/Fenrir kin wants ta join tha pack. There's a quizzical note there. I told 'im he kin serve as a free agent, comin' 'n goin' as he pleases but havin' no say in tha pack. He says he wants ta be part'a tha pack. Serve under Eagle's auspices 'n shit, though he says he cain't gain no benefits from Him. I ain't never seen it, but my elders say back in Germany some packs have one 'r two Hrafns bound to 'em. A mental shrug.

Told 'im he kin hang around our turf, meet tha rest'a ya, 'n we'll give 'im an answer in a month 'r so. So keep yer eyes open.

There's nothing much more then a sense of agreement over the totemphone. She'll watch, she'll consider. Least this one seemed to know when to keep his beak shut.

A quizical frown forming on his face with a tilting of his head as he listened to the voices in his head. Not those voices, but the other ones called pack.

~Um, what the fuck is a Hrafn?~

To him it sounded like Decker got a hairball and was trying to bring it up.

~Dude, ya said he's Kinfolk? I ain't never seen a Kinfolk asking to join the pack. Well unless you consider.....awfuckit, nevermind.~

Shaking his head while riding down the street.

AnneMarie - ever the teacher. Hrafn is a War Raven, Kemp. Corax, but often not the idiocy that is the one Decker Axed. that this one is not of that type, while it seems so at first, remains to be seen.

In Germany we used them as scouts. They ate the left overs of our kills. A give and take sort of relationship.

They work with packs in the same way that... well.. a scout would work with an army unit. That didn't make them a part of the unit though. They're Fera. If he has feathers he's a Corax. No matter who's loins he sprang from.

They're good to have as allies but their tongues wag. They can't really help it. It's what they're for. It's why Gaia created them. To tell shit. So.. while having the eyes is good. Having them flying about telling everyone everything we do might not be. Again.. not because the Ravens are bad.. they just talk. We fight we're Fenrir. It's what they "DO".

As for Eagle.. I don't know any rite personally that could pull him in that way. Perhaps he could petition Eagle directly.... but.. Eagles and Ravens are often enemies in the natrual world. Perhaps our totem could make exception.. but I'd rather not be the one to ask, thanks. I heard about Fenris and that girls arm. I like my arms right where they are. Even if they end weirdly.

Hoorahfarfignewton? the recollectiive response in low chuckle, and at least this response from the Gnawer is far more positive than the -last- discussion regarding potential packmates Haven't heard of it being possible, myself, but doesn't stop him from proving value or allegiance between now and the next moon. Though.... I'm not volunteering to convince Eagle a scavenger isn't going to pillage His "nest," either....

wonder if he'll make the same impression Kennedy did on Decker's truck
much less the pack in it's entirety

Hyde's reply to the Gnawers words is gruff. Don't be thinking I'll be asking the big "E" for such a thing either... He can go ask his damn self. I like my head atop my shoulders. Not down between my ass cheeks.

(james)
I was agreeing with you, Hyde. no matter how gruffly the Get responded, the guttermutt's cadence retains an element of levity, even warm humor We haven't cut any slack for anyone wanting in before.... don't see a reason to start with this Hrafn. Deck's bull's eye last moon ought to be warning enough for the stakes of this game. there might even be a mental grin right about here, cause that was goddamned amusing Eagle hasn't proven any more forgiving an audience of presumptuous claim. Each one of us knows it..... he'll figure it out or get plucked.

[[Admin Clarification: We were asked for clarification on whether or not it is even possible to have a corax bound as pack. After reading through the breed book, as well as the changing breed book (thanks to those that helped us there!) We have decided as follows:

Corax cannot be bound into a pack by Totem, because Raven will not let him go. No benefits, no bans. They can be "bound" only simbolically, in name alone, as Kin are.

Possible inclusion in the Rite of Bonding, but it should be taken into consideration in this instance that Eagle and Raven are not necessarily friends, and one or the other might be quite pissed off should it be tried. Corax can never exist without Raven. And serving two totems is a conflict that just isn't feasible. In order for the Rite of Bonding to work, Eagle would have to accept him. And well, see above.

Rite of Totem was also mentioned - but that is to call a totem to a tribe of GAROU. Corax are not garou.

There's our word on it, thus ends this admin invasion on this thread.
