I find Falwell is a topic of conversation today *chuckles*
I must say, the religious right (now if that isn't an oxymoron) is one of my favorite pasttimes. It's a simple, exquisite pleasure I don't even have to lift a finger to receive.
On my best, wittiest, most fabulously intelligent day I could not even begin to do as good a job of making an absolute FOOL out of someone as the *coughs* religous right does, by itself, everytime I hear about it.
As if America wasn't pissed off and in enough pain already.
Man, if America wasn't united for a cause already, soon as that healine hit, I sure as hell bet it is now.
I mean, sure, I could get pissed off. Lemmeseehere, I'm gay (bi, really, but if it weren't for my wife.....), pro-choice, fully support women's rights, my hair is long, I actively seek an alternative lifestyle.... and OH! I almost forgot! I'm pagan.... gee, I'm fairly screwed. In fact..... this is All. My. Fault.
Oh no!
Say it ain't so!
I........ I'm sorry but as soon as I heard anything about this I laughed so hard I PEE'D.
Let's look at the facts here. We seem to have pissed this so-called "God" off, right? So "he" allows this to happen. Personally, if I were going to believe that "God" (hmm.... that doesn't work, quotations are just.... passe', and disrespectful, regardless of my beliefs, "God" exists for others and they've right to believe in "him" so why should I slander?.... howabout..... ... oh that's perfect). So, personally, if I were going to believe that ... was behind all of this, in some shape or form..... I'd just expect more. Y'know?
I heard about some pretty top notch stuff going on in this certain good book I read a while back, and man, this just seems anticlimactic (sp?) compared to deadly plagues......
These guys bungled it. They may have gotten 75% of the intended accomplished, but you have to admit, some of those meddlesome Americans (may they rest in peace knowing they are heroes) got in the way and pfft! Final target missed. And that's an imperfection. Anything.... and I mean anything.... that has divine intervention, isn't that considered perfect? Or am I under the wrong assumption that ... is considered perfect, by those that follow ...?
Or is the turnaround argument that ... is not a completely vengeful ... and therefore was only allowing 75% of the tragedy to be accomplished in the name of mercy? From what I heard righteous justice is absolute.....
And, this also means you're telling me that all those innocent victims...... they..... deserved to die? Even those among them that are 100% guaranteed to pass Judgement Day with flying colors as per the book of Jerry.... they deserved to die tragically, horribly, and painfully? Just to be made an example of as the rest perished? Right?
I thought most martyrs made a choice to die for their religion, or at least put themselves into the situation that might happen....... and I'm sure at least a few people were caught offguard on Tuesday.
And from what I understand of a certain belief system.... we are made in the image of ..., and ... is perfection absolute. And we, in turn, are perfect. And because of this, ... loves us. Whether we are gay, straight, black, white, blue, yellow, pagan, christian, catholic, muslim, pro-choice, pro-life, feminist, whatever..... we are made in ...'s image. And, in turn, we are perfect. We are, what ... chose us, to be. And, because of this, ... loves us.
Mudslinging and blaming does not teach tolerance, justice, patience, humility, or love...... does it. It breeds hatred and fear. Like the beliefs fueling Tuesday's events...... who's people, for committing such monstrous acts, will surely experience divine wrath, in the name of what is Just and Right.
And people wonder why I'd rather dance naked around a bonfire. It's not for the refreshing breeze, though that is a perk *chuckles*
Awesome. I must say, I'm glad to see someone who shares my opinions. Scary as that may be. (Don't tell anyone I said that, I might be hurt.) =). [ImNoOne]
